Karen Herman, our CEO and founder, was hired by a real estate investment partnership as a consultant on the interior design for a new Clubhouse for a multi-family apartment development. This project was completed with her previous company called Creative Direct Solutions, Inc.

Working with the client’s design theme of “a natural, Cape Cod style, coastal living environment,” Karen developed a conceptual design to bring nature inside the open plan Clubhouse. Expansive clerestory windows and a vaulted ceiling in the Great Room showcased the sky and trees outside, inviting a relaxing color scheme of neutral beige fabrics, natural green finishes and a deep blue carpet. A stylish formal fireplace with traditional moldings and a flagstone hearth was designed to bring warmth and intimacy to the room. The coastal living design theme carried through to the Lounge and Fitness Center, creating inviting areas for apartment residents to relax and socialize.

The project was in construction for over three years with numerous starts and stops, requiring updating to design documents and budgets.
